In my opinion, the future of BNI Meetings in the short term will be with a combination of In Person participants combined with Zoom participants for those people who are not quite ready. That is how the school system is proceeding. Most kids can’t wait to get back to class with their classmates, but to be fair, the schools are giving students the option to attend school by video conferencing.
A group of us decided to experiment with the concept of a combination meeting. BNI is not allowing in person meetings. However, a group of us decided to have an unofficial “happy hour”. We had about 16 people attend in person and about 8 on line. For those of us who were in person, seeing the Zoom people on a big screen was a unique and fun experience. I am told that the people attending by Zoom didn’t have as much luck. They had trouble hearing the in person people’s conversation.
However, I’m sure that when BNI offers in person and Zoom meetings, their tech people will have all the kinks worked out and will present a very pleasant experience.
